Hasil observasi dan wawancara dengan beberapa siswa yang dilakukan di MTs Negeri 1 Aceh Tamiang ditemukan bahwa siswa sulit mempelajari matematika dikarenakan hanya berpaduan pada buku cetak yang dibagikan di sekolah. Salah satu bahan ajar yang dapat memberikan kemudahan bagi siswa adalah dengan menggunakan Hypothetical Mathematical Learning Trajectory. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kriteria kevalidan dari desain Hypothetical Mathematical Learning Trajectory pada dimensi tiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan metode penelitian kombinasi model sequential exploratory dengan design research yang meliputi Preparing for the experiment, Experiment in the classroom., dan Restrospective analysis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa desain Hypothetical Mathematical Learning Trajectory pada dimensi tiga memiliki kriteria valid. Desain Hypothetical Mathematical Learning Trajectory pada dimensi tiga masih asing digunakan bagi guru maupun siswa, oleh karenanya perlu disosialisasikan oleh sekolah atau lembaga terkait dengan harapan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika sisw
