Author Guidelines for Linguista: Jurnal Ilmiah Bahasa, Sastra dan Pembelajarannya

1. General Requirements

  • Submissions must focus on topics related to language, literature, and learning, aligning with the scope of Linguista: Jurnal Ilmiah Bahasa, Sastra dan Pembelajarannya.
  • Manuscripts must be original, not previously published, and not under simultaneous consideration by other journals.
  • Articles can be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia, maintaining academic and grammatical accuracy.

2. Manuscript Format

  • File Type: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Length: Manuscripts should be between 5,000–8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
  • Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman, 12 pt font, and 1.5-line spacing.
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.

3. Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

  • Title: Clear, concise, and no more than 20 words.
  • Abstract: Write an abstract in English (150–250 words) summarizing the purpose, methodology, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: Include 4–6 keywords that represent the main content of the article.
  • Introduction: Explain the research background, problems, objectives, and significance. Include references to previous studies where applicable.
  • Methodology: Clearly describe the research approach, instruments, and analysis methods.
  • Results and Discussion: Present findings logically, supported by relevant references and discussions.
  • Conclusion: Summarize key findings and provide recommendations or implications.
  • References: Follow APA (7th edition) referencing style. Ensure all references are cited in the manuscript.

4. Tables and Figures

  • Tables:

    • Place tables close to the related text in the manuscript.
    • Use a clear and concise title, placed above the table. Example:

    • Number tables sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Table 2).
    • Use horizontal lines to separate headers and data. Avoid vertical lines.
    • Include notes below the table if necessary to explain abbreviations or symbols used.
  • Figures (Charts, Graphs, Images):

    • Insert figures near the related text in the manuscript.
    • Provide a descriptive title, placed below the figure. Example:

    • Number figures sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2).
    • Ensure figures are of high quality (minimum resolution: 300 dpi) and readable in black-and-white print.
    • Submit figures in their original format along with the manuscript (e.g., .png, .jpeg, or .tiff).

5. Language and Style

  • Use clear and concise academic language.
  • Authors submitting in Bahasa Indonesia must ensure compliance with Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI).

6. Ethical Requirements

  • Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and avoiding plagiarism.
  • All submissions must include a statement of originality and conflict of interest disclosure.

7. Citation and References

  • Follow APA (7th edition) style for in-text citations and references.

  • Example of in-text citation:

    • Paraphrase: Reading comprehension is critical for students' cognitive development (Tarigan, 2021).
    • Direct quote: "Reading is an essential skill that underpins all academic learning" (Tarigan, 2021, p. 45).
  • References should be listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript. Example:

    • Book:
      Tarigan, H. G. (2021). Membaca sebagai suatu keterampilan berbahasa. Angkasa.
    • Journal Article:
