The purpose of this study was to explore computational thinking skills in all aspects (decomposition, abstraction, pattern recognition and algorithm) of grade IV Special Programme Learning Primary School in urban areas in solving AKM numeracy problems. Data collection was carried out through written tests, interviews, and documentation. The method applied in this study was qualitative with a case study design. The data validity test used was the source and method triangulation technique. In the data analysis technique, qualitative analysis techniques were used, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the computational thinking ability of students can be categorized into complete and uncomplete. Learners with the complete category fulfill all four indicators of computational thinking, namely being able to decompose complex problems into simple ones (decomposition), being able to formulate important information (abstraction), identifying patterns (pattern recognition) and being able to compile systematic logical steps (algorithms). Learners with uncomplete abilities have not fulfilled the four indicators of computational thinking, namely namely some learners can identify relevant information (decomposition, abstraction), recognize patterns (pattern recognition) but most have not been able to design problem solving steps systematically (algorithms) and there are also some learners who have not been able to understand the problem at all and analyze problem solving.
Nunuk Nurcahyani Adiyastuti, Sutama Sutama, Yulia Maftuhah Hidayati Copyright (c) 2024 Premiere Educandum : Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar dan Pembelajaran https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://e-journal.unipma.ac.id/index.php/PE/article/view/21496 Sat, 28 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0700 STEM: Project based learning to enhance conceptual understanding of two-dimensional shapes and and develop the pancasila student profile https://e-journal.unipma.ac.id/index.php/PE/article/view/21314
This study aims to explore the conceptual understanding of shapes through the integration of STEM with Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in enhancing elementary students' understanding of two-dimensional shapes and developing the Pancasila Student Profile. The research approach of this study is qualitative. Data collection techniques employed in this study include interviews, observations, and analysis of student work. The subjects of this research are three second-grade students who face difficulties in understanding the concepts of two-dimensional geometry. The research findings indicate that the STEM-integrated PjBL approach can The research findings describe that after the STEM integrated PjBL approach students can fulfill 4-7 indicators of concept understanding, namely presenting concepts in various mathematical representations, developing necessary and sufficient conditions for a concept, using, exploiting and selecting certain operations and applying concepts to problem solving Additionally, PjBL-STEM fosters character development pancasila student profile such as collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
Ukhti Raudhatul Jannah, Ainur Rofiq Hafsi, Sri Indriati Hasanah, Hasan Basri, Septia Nurhidayati, Akhmad Riski Rifanda, Sisca Patricia Dwi Agustin Copyright (c) 2024 Premiere Educandum : Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar dan Pembelajaran https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://e-journal.unipma.ac.id/index.php/PE/article/view/21314 Wed, 26 Feb 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Prospective teachers’ creativity in constructing learning media in project brain-based learning (PjBBL) model https://e-journal.unipma.ac.id/index.php/PE/article/view/22127
Creativity is an essential competency for prospective teachers, especially in learning preparation. In learning, teachers’ creativity establishes an innovative learning process. However, the studies on prospective teachers’ creativity in developing learning media have not been carried out comprehensively. Therefore, this study investigates the prospective teachers’ creativity in constructing learning media using a descriptive qualitative approach. As many as 131 students from Universitas PGRI Madiun, Indonesia, participated in this study. The participants were asked to compose learning media at the end of the course. Besides they were also given 10 question items. Our results suggested the different levels of creativity among the prospective teachers attending learnings with PjBBL, PjBL, BBL, and conventional learning methods.
Ivayuni Listiani, Supri Wahyudi Utomo, Sugiarti, Erma Yulitasari Copyright (c) 2024 Premiere Educandum : Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar dan Pembelajaran https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://e-journal.unipma.ac.id/index.php/PE/article/view/22127 Fri, 25 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Implementing interactive videos based on local cultural values to enhance character education among elementary school students https://e-journal.unipma.ac.id/index.php/PE/article/view/22262
Implementation of interactive videos based on local cultural values in elementary school character education is essential in face of rapid technological advancement. Interactive videos not only help students understand and appreciate their own cultural heritage, but also introduce them to important character values embedded in local traditions and customs. These values play a crucial role in shaping students’ identity, integrity, and personality. Study aims to apply interactive videos grounded in local cultural values to support character education in elementary school students. A quantitative approach was used, involving a survey of 21 students to evaluate key aspects of character development. Data collected through questionnaires were analyzed statistically to provide an objective overview and to inform the development of effective character education policies. Findings indicate that the use of interactive videos had a positive impact on students’ character development, particularly in the areas of cooperation and environmental awareness, which were mostly rated as "Very Good." Improvements were also observed in students' integrity and their understanding of local cultural values. However, a small number of students still fell into the "Poor" and "Very Poor" categories, highlighting the need for continued efforts to strengthen character education and ensure more consistent development across all students.
Muhammad Yusnan, Munirah, Anin Asnidar, Farisatma, Agusalim, Fahril Ramadhani Copyright (c) 2024 Premiere Educandum : Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar dan Pembelajaran https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://e-journal.unipma.ac.id/index.php/PE/article/view/22262 Sat, 26 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0700 The effectiveness of student worksheets based on computational thinking to the problem-solving skills of elementary school students in science learning https://e-journal.unipma.ac.id/index.php/PE/article/view/18554

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of student worksheets based on computational thinking in science learning on the problem-solving skills of fourth-grade elementary school students. The type of research used is a quasi-experiment, namely by using an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group is a class that uses student worksheets based on computational thinking, while the control group is a class that does not use student worksheet-based computational thinking. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample of 40 students. Data collection was carrying by giving a pretest and posttest containing several problem-solving ability questions. Data analysis was carrying by using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that, compared to the control groups whom did not use a student worksheets based on computational thinking, there was an increase in average test scores for higher problem-solving skills among experimental students. In addition, the results of the t-test also showed a significant difference in problem-solving ability between classes that used student worksheet-based computational thinking and classes that did not use student worksheet-based computational thinking. Thus, it concluded that student worksheet-based computational thinking is effectively able to improve the problem-solving skills of elementary school students in science learning.

Arifah Rohmah, Sekar Purbarini Kawuryan Copyright (c) 2024 Premiere Educandum : Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar dan Pembelajaran https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://e-journal.unipma.ac.id/index.php/PE/article/view/18554 Mon, 28 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0700
