Abstract

This research explores the use of snakes and ladders as a pedagogical tool to increase interest in learning and vocabulary skills in language among elementary school students. English vocabulary is a very important skill, and the PBL learning model with
snakes and ladders as a medium plays an important role in developing critical thinking and creativity. This research involved two teaching cycles using the PBL method, with each cycle focusing on increasing students' interest in learning and English vocabulary.
The results showed a marked increase in student engagement and interest in learning, reflected in higher post-test scores. Classroom management is key to facilitating PBL implementation, fostering an environment where students feel comfortable seeking help.
Overall, this research highlights the potential of the PBL method and snakes and ladders media in increasing students' interest in learning in elementary schools.
