Indonesian Human Identity at Pilangbango Elementary School Madiun City

Abstract

Identity in terminology is a feature or characteristic possessed by a nation so that it can be distinguished from other nations. Indonesia is a country that has a diversity of ethnicities, languages and cultures. Indonesia has the character of a society that is known to be friendly, polite and religious. Indonesia consists of tens of thousands of islands with tens of thousands of cultures, customs and regional languages in Indonesia. Even though it has diversity, Indonesia does privilege compared to other nations namely Indonesia has Pancasila. Embracing Pancasila values in schools strengthens Indonesian human identity which is carried out by practicing and strengthening the Pancasila profile, namely, having faith, fearing God Almighty, and having noble character, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical reasoning, and being creative both when in the school environment and in the classroom. Observations were carried out at Pilangbango Elemantary School, Kartoharjo District, Madiun City using qualitative methods. The purpose of this observation are to observe the signs and symbols that exist in the school ecosystem and the learning process about respect for and appreciation of diversity and appreciation of Pancasila values in schools strengthens Indonesian human identity.
