Abstract

Indonesia mencetak sejarah perolehan medali terbanyak, dengan 31 emas, 24 perak dan 43 perunggu pada Asian Games 2018. Tantangan yang segera mengemuka adalah bagaimana meningkatkan atau setidaknya mempertahankan prestasi tersebut? Artikel ini berupaya mengutarakan gagasan yang berkaitan dengan isu-isu yang perlu diantisipasi setelah Asian Games 2018 usai. Data perolehan medali di Asian Games 2018 dijadikan panduan dalam analisis sehingga menghasilkan tema-tema pembahasan mulai dari investasi pada cabang olahraga Olimpiade, optimalisasi cabang potensial, diplomasi olahraga hingga perhatian pada prestasi non-medali. Sebagai kajian awal, artikel ini masih membutuhkan literatur penunjang dan data-data terbaru seiring dengan perjalanan menuju event-event kejuaraan olahraga multicabang berikutnya.
